This is one of our more advanced projects. It is well suited to students who have the desire to build something that's a cut above the rest. The process is not complicated, but it requires craftsmanship and perseverance. Each plank is shaped and cut and beveled on the bench. Then it is clamped into position on the boat and riveted to the preceding plank. Builders enjoy creating piles of pine shavings, tapping away at the copper rivets, and forming a work of buoyant art from another era.
The completed boat is an exceptionally capable rower. It holds up to three, and draws attention wherever it goes.
